Amer Ali Khan is an Indian journalist and politician from Telangana. Born on October 18, 1973, in Hyderabad, he is the son of Zahid Ali Khan, the chief editor of The Siasat Daily, a prominent Urdu newspaper. He holds a bachelor's degree in Communication and Journalism from Osmania University and an MBA from Sultan-ul-Uloom College in Hyderabad.
In August 2024, Amer Ali Khan was nominated as a Member of the Telangana Legislative Council (MLC) under the Governor's quota in recognition of his contributions to journalism and community welfare. He took oath as an MLC on August 16, 2024, representing the Indian National Congress.
He continues to serve as the News Editor of The Siasat Daily and is known for his advocacy on social issues, including the implementation of 12% reservation for Muslims in Telangana. He has played a key role in initiatives aimed at economically empowering individuals and promoting awareness about life, health, and general insurance in the community.
Amer Ali Khan has also called for special laws to protect minority rights in Telangana and is working on proposals to generate income for the community through solar power projects on Waqf lands. He is active on social media, regularly sharing updates and engaging with the public on current issues.
