Mahbubnagar, June 23, 2025:

A long-standing demand of the local Muslim community was fulfilled today with the laying of the foundation stone for the Urdu Ghar in Mahbubnagar. The ceremony marked a significant step toward promoting cultural and linguistic heritage in the region.

The event was attended by key dignitaries, including Muhammad Ali Shabbir, Advisor to the State Government; Mahbubnagar MLA Y. Srinivas Reddy; MLC Amer Ali Khan; Telangana State Waqf Board Chairman Syed Azmathullah Hussaini; Hajj Committee Chairman Syed Afzal Biyabani Khusro Pasha; TMRIES Chairman Muhammad Faheem Qureshi; and Chandra Reddy, among others.

Community leaders expressed gratitude to the government and elected representatives for responding to the long-pending request. The demand for an Urdu Ghar had been raised multiple times during previous election campaigns, especially by leaders of local Muslim social organizations.

The foundation stone was laid at the identified site behind Haji Ghaffar Petrol Pump, with community members, local residents, and officials present in large numbers. The Urdu Ghar is expected to serve as a hub for educational, cultural, and literary activities for Urdu-speaking citizens of the district.

This development marks a significant move toward preserving and promoting the linguistic diversity of Telangana while addressing community needs at the grassroots level.
